John Maxwell is a Jamaican journalist specialising in environmental and economic development issues. He is a columnist for the Jamaica Observer and lectures in the CARIMAC BA degree programme in Media Ethics and Legal Issues. He has won the Sandals 2000 Eco-Journalism Print Prize for his series “The Battle for Hope Gardens”, which was part of a successful campaign to prevent housing development in Jamaica’s premier botanical gardens.
