Photoshop for Photographers
This course will give photographers, at all skill levels, the tools and skills to navigate the 'digital darkroom'. Work sessions with Adobe Photoshop will give way to opportunities for presenting and discussing challenges faced in achieving professional-looking photographs.
Participants will be encouraged to work on tasks in a collaborative setting.
WHAT CAN I DO WITH PHOTOSHOP?
Adobe Photoshop is a tool which allows for boundless creative exploration in a 2-dimensional realm. It gives way for the opportunity to work on details within an image.
Some Techniques: Resizing, Cropping, colour modification, image retouching, compositing, digital painting (using a graphic tablet).
Adobe Photoshop makes it possible to restore old photographs after they have been scanned or even prepare digital images for print and for the web at high qualities.
Limitations: not able to produce vector images (however these can be imported).

Dates and Times: June 30, Jul 2, 3, 14, 16, 17 and 19; Mon, Wed, Th (6pm - 9pm) and Saturday, 10am - 5pm
Venue: Mona Campus, UWI
Skills / Tools Needed: Students must have basic computer skills. Students should take a USB stick or CD with photos they would like to work on.
